Allusion Draft

Nobody notices you
they don't ask how your day was
or
give a simple hello
The group encloses and you
are suddenly left in the corner
You feel outcasted and
end up using your phone as a getaway
The app is opened, thumbs scrolling
but your mind is absent upon the noise of loneliness.

Why is it that you feel lonely
in a room full of friends?
"On a scale of one to ten
how would you rate your pain?"
I,
myself hate the feeling of loneliness.
Its sad,
empty, and
just a not good feeling.

I’ll assure you company
in times like this
when there isn’t too many
when you think of people you miss
when you’re lonely
when you feel beat and unwanted
Tossed aside as if you weren’t human.
"What's up?"
"How was your day?"
"What seems to be the trouble?"

The smalls things do count.
My actions aren't based on pity.
I will give my undivided attention,
listen before talking,
steer the conversation to you,
simply being there for you
when it feels like no one is.
"You will be alright.
There, there."

  1. I really like how you used word for word what baymax said in the movie. "what's up." "how's your day?" it added a good connection to the allusion you chose. I also liked how you related it to yourself or how you felt and how in the movie that's how he felt too. good job.
